Overmolded Part Swelling

A customer was overmolding 8211-55 to a PP substrate for a pen grip. The part made of Santoprene™ TPV was experiencing swelling of the material. After probing the customer, I discovered that some of their customers were using a hand lotion that contains hydrocarbon oil that was causing the material to swell slightly. I suggested they go to 8211-75, a harder grade of material that would provide more oil resistance.
