Channel Depth & Compression

A customer was designing an enclosure that employed a seal that extended around the entire perimeter of the box. This seal would be molded separately and assembled. The customer's questions were how deep should the channel be for this seal and how much compression should be applied for a good seal. I got help on this one from one of our Design Engineers. He suggested using 101-55 for a round 2mm high seal with a 1mm deep channel, applying 25% compression to the seal.
